Lydia & Ryan's Wedding at the Fort Worth Japanese Garden

Lydia & Ryan's Travel-Inspired Wedding at the Fort Worth Japanese Garden

When you've lived in more than 10 countries and traveled to countless others, it's only fitting that you marry someone who shares your love of adventure.

Lydia and Ryan promised to be each other's "forever travel companion," and that spirit carried through every part of their wedding. From a ceremony in the Fort Worth Japanese Garden to a menu inspired by cuisines from around the world, their day was a celebration of everywhere they've been, everything they love, and all the adventures still ahead.

A Ceremony in the Fort Worth Japanese Garden

The Japanese Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden is one of the most beautiful ceremony spots in DFW, and for a couple this well traveled, it felt like exactly the right place to start the next chapter.

Integrity Events Design kept everything running smoothly, Woodsy Floral brought the flowers, and live violin and saxophone set the tone. Sometimes a venue does half the work for you. Our job was mostly to stay out of the way and let the garden and these two do their thing.

A Menu Inspired by Everywhere They've Been

Lydia and Ryan didn't just talk about their travels. They fed them to their guests. Joe Lane Catering put together a menu inspired by cuisines from around the world, which might be the most delicious way we've ever seen a couple tell their story.

Guest book? Sure. But a world tour you can eat is a lot more memorable.

Here's to Every Adventure Still Ahead

What we loved most about this wedding is that it never felt like a theme. It felt like them. Every choice pointed back to who Lydia and Ryan are and where they're headed, and the photos feel the same way: personal, a little adventurous, and full of life.

Lydia and Ryan, wherever you go next, we hope you bring these photos along for the ride.
